In order to make plastic products beautiful, it is usually necessary to polish plastic molds before mass production. Otherwise, not only will product demolding be troublesome, but also the surface of plastic products will not be shiny. Therefore, when polishing plastic molds, you need to pay attention to some details, otherwise the service life of the mold will be reduced.
1. Grinding rough lines should be carried out in the order of difficulty first, then easy, especially for some difficult-to-grind dead corners, the deeper bottom should be ground first, and finally the side and the large plane.
2. The polishing process should be completed in two separate work sites, that is, the rough grinding process site and the fine polishing process site are separated, and attention should be paid to cleaning the sand particles remaining on the surface of the workpiece in the previous process.
3. During each grinding process, the sandpaper should be ground from different 45° directions until the sand pattern of the previous level is eliminated, so that the surface of the plastic mold can be polished very smoothly.
4. Apply professional anti-rust oil to the working surface, movement and guide parts of the mold to prolong the service life of the mold.
5. When polishing, it is not necessary to use fine oil stone for polishing at the beginning, but first use coarse oil stone to remove the marks left by machining or EDM, and then use fine oil stone for polishing. In addition, when sanding with sandpaper, the principle of first thick and then fine should be followed, so that the surface of the mold can look very bright.
